Munch + Satyricon

A seating bench, measuring 20m in length, as part of the Satyricon+Munch exhibition at the Munch Museum in Oslo.

It provides visitors with a comfortable seating position while soaking in the art of Edvard Munch and listening to the commissioned musical piece Norwegian black metal artist Satyricon.

The bench is constructed for dissasembly and reuse and is composed by 9 modules chained together. To shape the bench’s curved radii, we used the kerfing technique, where a series of parallel grooves are milled to weaken the material and allow it to be bent into place.

It is frequently being reconfigured and used in other exhibitions at the museum.
