Redd Barna Benches

In this project, I have with Kulefisk designed and produced a limited series of benches for Redd Barna Norge, in collaboration with Elementa and Romlaboratoriet.

The benches are crafted from two obsolete wooden cafeteria tables from Redd Barna’s previous office spaces. These tables were no longer needed ss furniture, but as a material they were highly suitable.

Holes and marks in the oak have been filled with black Valchromat, celebrating the material’s previous life instead of concealing it.

The benches feature padded seat cushions, upholstered by Ida Öberg at Trekkeriet, using surplus textiles from Gudrun Design.

The cushions are held in place by magnets integrated into the bench tops, allowing for easy removal for cleaning or customization.

Kulefisk have produced a total of 16 benches in two differenet sizes, measuring 120x38cm and 60x38cm respectively.
